Riverbend Golf & Country Club located a few kilometers west of Richmond on the outskirts of Ottawa is "every person's course", designed to suit your taste whether you are a devoted aficionado or a casual, occasional player.
The two courses compliment everyone. Both courses, we feel, are able to provide a comfort zone to all, from the very young to the very old and everyone in between.
The SHORT COURSE has eight par 4's ranging in length from 215 yards to 305 yards and it has ten par 3's. It has a length of 3300 yards and a par of 62. It is picturesque and scenic and was intentionally designed to be very golfer friendly.
With all the changes that have taken place over the last twenty five years the length of the CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE has grown to 6400 yards and has its degree of difficulty from the back tees. It continues to be golfer friendly from the front tees. But in that friendliness, for all golfers, it harbours enough prickly patches to demand your constant attention.
At first glance the course looks like any other golf course but the curiosity grows as you go along, and the more you play it, the more you appreciate it. It is unique in that it has tremendous variety in its holes; doglegs right, doglegs left, holes along the river and holes across the river and all of them in superb condition.
The greens are not large, but medium sized, some with relatively severe slopes and some with a subtlety that provides a searching test. The whole course is laced through by the twisting path of the Jock River. In short, it is a course to be thoroughly enjoyed by all who play it.
Riverbend has a fine, modern clubhouse with all the facilities, including a dining room with a seating capacity of 150, pro shop service, a fleet of motorized carts, and everything you could require for a season of play as a member, a casual round as a green fee player, or as the home for your office or company tournament. Not too tough, but tough enough; golfer friendly, but still enough of a demand that you stay alert. And all of it consistently well groomed and professionally managed.
Now, with its two eighteen hole courses Riverbend may truly be called "every person’s course".
