We are located about 180 kms north of Saskatoon in a beautiful parkland setting. The course is usually open in
early April and closes on the thanksgiving weekend in October. A 52 acre lake, with winding creek, and several water hazards bring water into play on 9 holes. Tree lined fairways and a rolling
landscape make shot placement a key factor to score well on this course.
The course is being continually improved and we are currently installing paving stone cart paths on all 18 holes. The
length of the course isĀ 6000 yards, par 72 for men from the blue tees, and par 74 for ladies from the red tees. The course was rated in 2001 with slope ratings for men at 122 and ladies at 135.
There are no major projects planned this year. A couple more challenging sand and water traps traps may be added as time permits.
The course managers have seen fit to extend the interval
between tee times to 10 minutes which is probably 3 minutes longer than the standard at most golf courses. This change has been much appreciated, as it increases the space between groups and makes your round of golf more relaxing and enjoyable. There is much less waiting
for groups ahead and slower players are not continually being asked to allow groups to play through.
Those of you who have enjoyed the water flowers in the numerous water traps around the
course, will be glad to know we have added new colors and they will be flowering from July to freeze up.
We are hopeful we will get a long, warm summer. Please come, renew your spirit in
Spiritwood, and enjoy our country hospitality.
